CFA Launches Environmental Project for NCR High Schools

Oct 3rd 2012

CFA has formed a partnership with the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) for a project on “Raising Students’ Awareness and Recognizing Students’ Initiatives For Environmental Protection.”

Preparations are now ongoing for the forum, video and contest which will be launched simultaneously next month. Both the video and the contest will be unveiled during the forum for selected NCR high school students, which will be held at CFA in mid-November 2012. The forum will encourage school initiatives to tackle climate change. A video documentary on the climate change situation in the Philippines is now being produced.

The forum will also see the launch of a Student Competition on the Best Environmental Project. This contest, which is sponsored by CFA and FPE, is open to high school students from all public and private schools in Metro Manila. A group of students from any of these schools can submit a project that would address Climate Change issues in the country. The groups must develop and implement a sustainable environment protection project for the school or the community where it belongs.

There will be cash prizes, plaques and certificates for contest winners. The contest will run from November 2012 to February 2013. Groups interested in participating must register on or before December 10, 2012.

Rules for the contest can now be downloaded by clicking here. Registration forms will be available for downloading in November 2012.
